Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros- “Man On Fire”
I’m a man on fire, walking through your street, with one guitar and two dancing feet. Only one desire that’s left in me, I want the whole damn world to come dance with me.
I feel like Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros is that kind of band that know the secret to life and are just choosing to tell us piece by piece through song. The band’s debut record Up From Below just radiated with positivity and their sophomore release Here is no different. Here is full of that quirky pop and communal feel that got the band noticed from the start along with explosions of horns and drums. Each song carries a theme of soul-searching and reflection with lush group vocals and a laid back vibe. Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros have given us an album the just feels real and genuine, which is something I think we could all use more of.
Jay-Z and Kanye West ft. Frank Ocean- “No Church In The Wild”
One more video for good measure. I’m going to join the masses who are sharing this video that hit the internet yesterday. “No Church In The Wild” is my favorite track off Watch The Throne. Romain Gavras directed a stunning video of young revolutionaries to go along with an already powerful track.
M83- “Reunion”
M83 brings us the visually breathtaking video for “Reunion” directed by Fluer & Manu. The video continues the storyline of the paranormal kids that were first seen in the “Midnight City” video and I believe I spot an Adam Yauch tribute as well. Amazing.
Kid Cudi- “Day N’ Nite”
I’ve been on a big Kid Cudi kick lately. “Day N’ Nite” might be one of my favorite songs of his and well, just favorite songs in general. Great beat and lyrics and the mix of animation in the video gives us a little view into the crazy head of Cudi. When can we get more classic Kid Cudi?

My Great Grandmother turned 99 years old this weekend and the whole family got together to celebrate. Her advice to all of us on how to get through life: Be cool. Simple as that.
The Temper Trap- “Sweet Disposition”
Nothing like a little live music session for this Thursday. The Temper Trap is starting to promote their excellent sophomore album due out in June. The guys stopped by Rolling Stone and played a little four song acoustic set. This stripped down version of “Sweet Disposition” is just wonderful. Head over to the mags website to see the rest of the show!
